Help Angie and Her Children Rebuild Their Lives

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to support Angie and her two young children as they navigate through an incredibly challenging period in their lives. Angie's journey has been marked by resilience, courage, and an unwavering commitment to her children, despite facing unimaginable hardships and domestic abuse.

Angie's Story

Angie and the father of her children were married in a beautiful Hindu ceremony on March 24, 2012, surrounded by family and friends. Their union, however, soon revealed a darker side. His behavior became increasingly erratic and abusive, leading to emotional, physical, psychological, and financial torment for Angie and their children. Despite her efforts to make the marriage work, Angie faced continuous abuse and was forced to seek refuge with her parents multiple times.

The Struggle for Safety and Stability

In early 2020, Angie moved with her children to live with their father, hoping for a fresh start. Unfortunately, the abuse escalated, culminating in a terrifying night in March 2021 when Angie fled to a domestic violence shelter. Since then, she has been fighting to protect her children and rebuild their lives.

The Legal Battle

Angie's battle didn’t end with her escape. Her children’s father and his family have relentlessly pursued legal action to gain full custody of the children, deny spousal and child support, and erase Angie from their lives. They have gone as far as to deny the validity of their marriage, despite the sacred Hindu ceremony witnessed by hundreds.

Angie is a loving mother who currently shares 50/50 custody of her children with their father. Unfortunately, the father is seeking 100% custody and is using every possible avenue to turn the children against Angie. This has created conflict and confusion in their young minds, negatively impacting Angie's ability to enjoy her children and strengthen her relationship with them during her custodial time.

Angie and her children continue to be traumatized by the father’s abusive tactics, which have taken a severe toll on their mental and emotional well-being. As a single working mother, Angie is also facing significant financial hardship. The ongoing legal fees, caused by the father’s relentless abuse of the court system, have drained her savings.

How You Can Help

Angie is a dedicated mother and a hardworking Medical Assistant, but the financial strain of legal fees, childcare, and living expenses is overwhelming. Your support can make a significant difference in their lives.

Here are the areas where your contributions can help:
  • Reliable Transportation: Angie has been without a car for the last 8 months. She needs a reliable used car, estimated at $10,000, to commute to work and safely care for her children.
  • Childcare and Camps: Angie works full-time as a Medical Assistant at a local clinic. Her job is not flexible, and she cannot work from home. More than half of her monthly earnings goes towards rent and after-school care. During school breaks she needs financial support to enroll her children in camps. Each camp costs $500 per week for both children, totalling approximately $5,000 per year for the next six years. This support is crucial for Angie to maintain her job.
  • Legal Fees: Angie has exhausted all her savings on legal fees. Ongoing legal battles and the father’s harassment require Angie to retain an attorney, costing around $5,000 per year.
  • Housing: Angie's salary is above the poverty line, preventing her from qualifying for government aid for housing and childcare. Moving to a larger apartment with a playground area would greatly benefit the children. Angie needs an additional $6,000 per year to afford a 3-bedroom apartment.

Your Impact

Your generosity will provide Angie and her children with the stability and security they desperately need. Every donation, no matter the size, brings them one step closer to a brighter future. Please consider supporting Angie in her fight for justice and a safe, loving environment for her children.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
