Help Ann Erdman Get Back on Her Feet

To All Friends of Ann Erdman:
As one of Ann Erdman’s many circles of friends, we are appealing to you because our dear friend needs our help. As you know, she has been so important to everyone – a great friend, colleague, mentor, public servant, supporter of local causes and nonprofits. Ann has been there for Pasadena for 30 years. Let's be there for her now.
She will be discharged March 25 from Royal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Bradbury, where she has been since Dec. 31 after sustaining serious injuries from a fall at home that required her to learn to walk again. While at Royal Oaks, her physical therapy was set back considerably due to the fact that she suffered horribly from COVID-19, during which she was very well taken of, and she recently experienced a new, debilitating leg injury when her left knee buckled and her leg collapsed from under her, for which the physical therapists provided excellent care so she could at least stand up again. But after these two incidents happened, she lost time that should have been devoted to getting her stronger so she could eventually walk again, and so PT had to be restarted from square one. At this point she is only able to take a couple of dozen very slow and tentative steps at a time.
All of this brings us to the purpose of this GoFundMe page. Although Medicare is forcing her discharge on March 25 because they will only pay for 100 days, Ann is far from ready to return home and stay by herself. But return home she must, and she will need caregivers 24/7 for a few weeks and possibly longer. She will continue physical therapy at home three times a week, which will be covered by insurance. But the cost of caregivers is all out-of-pocket, and Ann’s pockets are empty due to paying for previous caregivers plus other related expenses that maxed out her credit cards and depleted her bank accounts.
We estimate that her 24/7 in-home care and other related expenses will easily top $6,000 per month.
We trust you’ll agree we all need to help Ann weather this storm.
Please join us and give all you can as soon as you can to help our dear friend literally get back on her feet. If you have any questions about Ann's medical or financial situation, please feel free to contact her via Facebook direct messaging.
Bless you all. We are that circle of friends: Sheri Benninghoven, Judy Franz, Karen George, Sue Lang, Heather Moro and Deb Reyman.
