Anna's Fight Against Cancer (APL)
Donation protected
Anna Leone, a very caring person and beloved friend was rushed into the ER on April 2nd. Anna had suffered numerous healing abnormalities since getting her wisdom teeth removed in early March. However, Anna knew there was a serious problem when she started experiencing several more excruciating symptoms which resulted in limited mobility and fainting episodes. After waiting 6 hours in the ER with Kauanoe (boyfriend), they were visited by the hospital’s hemoglobin oncologist. The doctor shared the discovery of various abnormal blood cells found while examining Anna’s blood samples. More tests and a bone marrow biopsy revealed tragic news...
Anna was officially diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) on April 3rd. This form of cancer affects the myeloid cells such as red blood cells, platelets and some white blood cells. APL is affecting Anna’s bone marrow so much that it is failing to make enough normal blood cells for her body to function properly. Although the causes of APL are still unknown, doctors believe through the next month of chemotherapy and other treatments, Anna should enter remission and make a full recovery in time.
Since the abrupt onset of APL, it has been an emotional rollercoaster for Anna and her loved ones. The last thing we want is to see more stress and worry put on Anna during this freighting time. By creating this Go Fund Me, I sincerely hope we all can take part in alleviating the financial strain placed on Anna and her family. The medical bills for cancer treatment are no joke.
Any size donation will go a long way to help Anna fight this cancer! If you are unable to donate, please share this page with others that may be able to.
Also, please continue to lend your strength and love to Anna during this time.
We will be posting weekly updates on how she is doing!
