Help Anna fight Colon Cancer

In April 2023 my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer. In the beginning of March she started having an enormous amount of pain and a lot of other uncomfortable symptoms. We knew something was wrong and went to the doctor where she was followed up with many procedures; such as a colonoscopy, which is where they discovered a tumor and performed a biopsy that came back with cancer. Immediately they knew she needed to have the tumor surgically removed but needed to do a CT scan to see if the cancer has spread. Unfortunately, her scan came back with signs of spreading. Her colon cancer has spread to her stomach, liver and lungs. We have now been informed that the cancer cannot be surgically removed as it has spread to other organs. We were hoping surgery would be the answer but now my mom must begin chemotherapy. Her first session will hopefully be the first week of May.

I am reaching out to ask for your help to support my mom fight and recover from this terrifying life-threatening disease. There was no way for us to plan for any of this as cancer does not run in our family. My mom is a wonderful mother of two. She has always been a hardworking woman and it has always only been the 3 of us. My little brother is only 12 years old (almost 13 in May), he was diagnosed with autism when he was 6 years old. It has been very difficult for all of us, but especially for him as it is difficult for him to even understand or comprehend what is happening.

Anyone that knows my mom knows that she’s such an amazing person. She is so sweet, funny, caring and is always willing to help and support anyone who needs it. My mom has never been the type of person to ask for help however, she’ll need all the help and support to get through this tough journey.

En abril de 2023 a mi mamá le diagnosticaron cáncer de colon. A principios de marzo empezó a tener una enorme cantidad de dolor y muchos otros síntomas incómodos. Sabíamos que algo andaba mal y fuimos al médico donde la siguieron con muchos procedimientos; como una colonoscopia, que es donde descubrieron un tumor y realizaron una biopsia que resultó con cáncer. Inmediatamente supieron que necesitaba extirpar quirúrgicamente el tumor, pero necesitaban hacer una tomografía computarizada para ver si el cáncer se había propagado. Desafortunadamente, su escaneo regresó con signos de propagación. Su cáncer de colon se ha extendido a su estómago, hígado y pulmones. Ahora nos han informado que el cáncer no se puede extirpar quirúrgicamente ya que se ha diseminado a otros órganos. Esperábamos que la cirugía fuera la respuesta, pero ahora mi mamá debe comenzar la quimioterapia.

Me acerco para pedir su ayuda para ayudar a mi madre a luchar y recuperarse de esta aterradora enfermedad que amenaza la vida. No había forma de que planificáramos nada de esto, ya que el cáncer no viene de familia. Mi mamá es una maravillosa madre de dos. Siempre ha sido una mujer trabajadora y siempre hemos sido solo nosotras 3. Mi hermanito tiene solo 12 años (casi 13 en mayo), le diagnosticaron autismo cuando tenía 6 años. Ha sido muy difícil para todos nosotros, pero especialmente para él, ya que es difícil para él incluso entender o comprender lo que está sucediendo.

Cualquiera que conozca a mi madre sabe que es una persona increíble. Ella es muy dulce, divertida, cariñosa y siempre está dispuesta a ayudar y apoyar a cualquiera que lo necesite. Mi madre nunca ha sido el tipo de persona que pide ayuda, sin embargo, necesitará toda la ayuda y el apoyo que pueda obtener para superar este difícil viaje.
