Help Anna get rid of Jabba’s tumor.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mike, and I’ve got an old school buddy who is in a bit of a pickle. It’s an urgent need that I’m just finding out about, and I can’t help her alone. Anna’s closest companion, Jabba, has gone and got cancer. It’s a Mast Cell Tumor (Mastocytoma) that suddenly grew faster than Jabba could run and he needs surgery quickly… ON MONDAY, March 28th!
It’s a simple surgical procedure typically, and recovery can be quick, but we’ve got a few problems to overcome first. Anna ended up in the hospital herself last October and there’s still a large balance due of approximately $2,500 that she’s been chipping away at slowly. Jabba, not to be outdone, decided his tumor needed to be large enough to require a board certified surgeon to remove it. He’s a good boy though, so the extra costs are worth it. So Anna and Jabba need help to remove his tumor.
I love dogs. I’ve had several of my own that have undergone major medical procedures. I wish they could talk and tell us what’s wrong, or how they’re feeling. No wonder Veterinarians can be expensive, they’ve got a difficult job in making sure our four legged family members are healthy and happy. So, I understand what Anna and Jabba are going through and how uncomfortable he must be. I’m pretty sure I know how Anna is feeling right now and it makes it very hard to breathe. Could you imagine waking up tomorrow and facing a lifetime without your best friend?
Anna is a Program Specialist with Veterans Affairs. She helps people. She does it outside of work too. She has a giving nature and a lot of pride, so getting help from people feels awkward and somewhat embarrassing. She wants to pay what she can, so I’m not asking for it all. But I do want her to have enough for any unexpected things that might occur post-surgery.
So here’s our current situation:
- High estimate of surgery and medical (attached) = $5,705.55
- 80% up front = $4,564
- Jabba seems to be moving around ok, but difficulty sitting, laying down, and sleeping.
- Emergency clinics in the area have been at capacity, so his surgery is being squeezed in for Monday.
The good news? Jabba’s x-rays show no metastatic movement to lungs, abdomen, or leg. So, many more years for Jabba to spend with Anna.
