Help Anna heal from ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)

I am currently staying in an Ayurvedic clinic in India, trying to heal from ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) after 7 years of increasing social isolation due to debilitating symptoms.

I dream, that this treatment will allow me to eventually be able to attend things like

- a dinner with friends,

- a chill birthday party,

- a Christmas celebration,

… without my health deteriorating.

Or walk a little more than 150 meters, or visit a friend for a few days, without my health deteriorating.

Being less socially isolated would add so much to my quality of life. And according to all 4 Ayurvedic doctor I have talked to, this is not only possible - those dreams are too modest.

My current Ayurvedic doctor has successfully treated lots of people with ME/CFS. He says 3-5% of his patients come here with fatigue, and based on his experience with them, I can expect somewhere between 50-100% improvement in my symptoms.

But it takes time. It will probably take many months of Ayurvedic hospital stay over several years. And with 77% of a disability pension (not because they think I can work, but because I lived in other countries for years), I can only pay about half of the expenses myself.

Ayurveda is slow, but very effective in chronic conditions where western biomedical healthcare has very little to offer.

And even though it is quite expensive, it’s nothing compared to the 3+ million kr the danish tax payers are gonna save if it works, and I don’t need the disability pension anymore. And it’s also nothing compared to what our danish public health service spends treating a cancer patient. Unfortunately our health care system doesn’t pay for “alternative” treatments, in fact they are not offering me any relevant treatment for my condition at all. So I rely on the goodwill of people like you, if I wanna have a shot at becoming a contributing member of society again.

And I can’t even begin to tell you how much I long to have a job, to DO something USEFUL, to CONTRIBUTE to this world! Of course this time, in a more balanced way…

Budget:

For the budget-but-good Ayurvedic clinics, costs are about 450-600dkr or 60-80 euros per day for the Ayurvedic treatment, including accommodation and food.

Then there are travel costs, additional medicines and unexpected expenses, which, divided out per day is about 150dkr or 20 euros. My pension covers about 260dkr or 35 euros daily.

That means, for every 340-490 dkr /45-65 euro donation, you buy me one day of Ayurvedic hospital stay. It’s impossible to know how many months I will need, but likely between 6 months and a year in total. Spread out over multiple stays and multiple years. At an average cost of 400 dkr / 54 euros, each month would cost about 12.200 dkr / 1,636 euros.

The current aim of the fundraiser is set to the equivalent of 6 months of treatment.
