Help Anna pursue Master's in Data Science

Hi, my name is Anna Abrahamyan. I am happy to share that I got accepted into LUISS Guido Carli University and am offered to join the Masters in Data Science and Management 2-year program, class of 2025. Luiss Guido Carli University regularly ranks as one of Europe's leading universities. The program combines solid technical-scientific (STEM) and economic disciplines. Many programs at LUISS have been ranked in the top 50 in the past years. As a knowledge-oriented and ambitious young person, I do not miss any chance of upgrading my knowledge and skills and I am hoping to make this journey happen with your support.

Education

Since my childhood, I have realized and valued the importance of education and knowledge. I am from Armenia, where I received my primary education and graduated from Ayb High School in 2018. I pursued my bachelor’s degree in Data Science at American University of Armenia, where I created a solid base of knowledge in data science.

Experience and Career Goals

During my junior year, I had a unique opportunity to join a Data Science internship program at Siemens, the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe. Here, I got to implement my knowledge in solving real-life problems. I have participated in different projects, which allowed me to develop my practical skills.

Parallel to my university studies I have also started working at Cognaize International LLC, which helps financial service firms to improve document automation using AI. Studying at AUA I felt the power of influencing and promoting the growth of the data sector by joining Datapoint Armenia where I successfully became a key member in a short time and contributed to numerous projects which fostered the field of data science in Armenia. After graduating AUA, I joined the Research and Assessment office at AUA as a Data Analyst.

During my work and internships, besides gaining hands-on experience, I have developed a sense of independence, and have further developed my leadership and teamworking skills, along with improving my technical skills in Data science. I have worked with people from various backgrounds, successfully accomplished multiple tasks, gained soft skills. At the same time, I have not compromised the commitment to my academic studies.

Throughout my studies and internship experiences, I have realized the importance of Data Science in the modern world. Data and statistical analysis can help us derive invaluable insights that can help cure diseases, improve businesses, and build efficient technologies. My goal is to build the necessary knowledge, skills and resources to help grow the field of Data Science in my home country – Armenia. Developing data science in Armenia will create new incentives for the government to adopt data-driven decisions, which in turn will lead to exponential productivity growth levels in all sectors of the economy.

After learning about the high quality education and the immense opportunities that the LUISS Guido Carli University offers, especially in my desired profession, I realized that it is the perfect place where I can pursue my academic goals, as well as grow personally and professionally as an independent thinker.

I have been working hard to succeed academically and professionally, with an ultimate goal to give back to my community through my knowledge and expertise in the future.

I am willing to put all my efforts to help and stimulate the economic growth in Armenia through my profession. I am also willing to be an example for the younger female students to seek advancement in their education, especially in STEM. Your help will be key in enabling me to achieve these long-term goals and make a positive impact.

By pursuing this master program I will be able to master both the scientific and business aspects, using new technologies, data-driven insights to improve many of the modern problems.

The support I need

The total cost of attendance for the MSc program at LUISS is as follows (1st year):

Tuition and fees: € 13000 - equivalent to $14200 (of which 4400 first installment due 30/06/2023)

Room and board: € 9000 - equivalent to $ 9800

Total cost: € 22000 - equivalent to $23930

Through personal, family savings, scholarships (the results are pending) I will be able to cover only part of the total cost. The scholarships that I have applied to, have not yet released the results, but I am hoping I will be able to receive some assistance through these sources.

If I am successful in receiving these scholarships, I will need the remaining € 5000 to be able to enroll in the program in September 2023.

Having in mind that getting the scholarship is not a final and conclusive decision, I have also applied and got admitted to other universities: University of Verona and University of Cote d'Azur (tuition combined with room and board €13000 for one year).

Throughout my active integrity in the academic field, work experience and active participation in NPOs and social projects, I have expanded my network and built strong connections with professionals in different fields. I am positive that with the help of my network I will be one step closer to becoming a professional in the field.

Վարձը կազմում է € 13000 տարեկան։ Ընտանեկան խնայողությունների, կրթաթոշակների միջոցով (արդյունքները սպասվում են) ես կկարողանամ ծածկել ընդհանուր ծախսերի միայն մի մասը: Կրթաթոշակները, որոնց ես դիմել եմ, դեռ չեն հրապարակել արդյունքները, բայց հուսով եմ, որ կկարողանամ որոշակի օգնություն ստանալ այս աղբյուրների միջոցով:

Եթե ​​ինձ հաջողվի ստանալ այս կրթաթոշակները, ինձ անհրաժեշտ կլինի մնացած 5000 եվրոն, որպեսզի կարողանամ գրանցվել ծրագրին 2023 թվականի սեպտեմբերին:
