Help Annabelle beat FIP
Donation protected
This is all for Annabelle. The most beautiful kitten who has had the hardest first five months of her life.
From the age of three weeks, Annabelle showed signs of illness. She would eat sometimes, but never enough and couldn't gain weight. We would put her on IV fluids and supportive medications and she would do better, but only for a short while. She had no balance and a head tilt. At the age of 4 months, she was the size of an 8 week old kitten. After doing diagnostics at the vet office and consulting with an internal medicine doctor, she was diagnosed with "Neuro FIP".
It was amazing to finally have an answer, but so defeating because it is a long and expensive treatment plan.
She requires 84 days of injections and many supportive medications as well. This poor girl is such a fighter.
Since starting the treatment she has had amazing days where she gains weight, eats well and is becoming a normal playful kitten!
However, she keeps developing secondary illnesses along the way.
At week two of the treatment her lungs became inflamed and she struggled to breath. With many medications and antibiotics, we were able to bring her back to health.
Earlier this week she stopped eating, started vomiting and having diarrhea. X-rays show intessuseption. This means her intestinal tract has folded in on itself and is creating a blockage.
More supportive medications are added. And she is now at home with ongoing IV fluid therapy and I have been told to increase her FIP injection dose. With this, surgery was the best plan, but too risky for her with her being so compromised.
Needless to say I am a very worried fur momma as I need to continue this for her. I need to keep giving her the chance to fight this and to beat this disease. But all these changes and hurtles along the way have me scared I won't be able to afford to keep helping her through this.
She deserves this chance to live. Anyone who has met Annabelle knows she is extremely unique and special and above all, a true fighter.
If you have it in you to help, please donate to this little lady's ongoing treatment.
Anything helps and is greatly appreciated ❤️
