Here is a look into her story:

Anna fights to live and embraces the wonders of life. She started her life in Poland. At the time, Poland was still a Communist country. She can remember Russian troopers outside her home when she was young. And there was a waiting list for her to get a toddler bed. Then she moved to Wisconsin, where she met her dedicated husband, Brent. I met Anna when we worked at 360 Direct. She is one of those faithful, caring, and thoughtful friends. We used to take walks during our lunch breaks to appreciate the outdoors. Then she was bitten by a tick and got Lyme disease. For years, she’s battled this awful disease, with many days of canceled experiences while being commissioned to bed.

She and her husband moved to Colorado for a climate that may better suit her grappling with the disease. The extreme mountains, bears, moose, and the new community were her next great adventure.

Then one day in January, her husband came home to find Anna passed out on the floor. She stayed in a coma for three weeks. The doctors wanted to pull the plug, but her husband said, “No, she’s a fighter and will come back.” She came back! She woke and said, “What the heck am I doing here? Let’s go home.”

Cut to today, where Anna is on a waiting list for a liver transplant. The doctors say she needs a liver transplant within three months. This GoFundMe account is set up to help Anna and Brent with the hospital costs and give her hope.

The hospital calls Anna a miracle. Anna is a friend who is strong, supportive, and caring. Despite life dealing Lyme disease, she embraces what life offers.

A liver transplant can run nearly a million dollars and will require a 4-week hospice stay, nursing home, and physical therapy. They also have two shar-pei dogs for Brent to care for while beside his wife.
