Help Anne Moody's Son

Donation protected
Anne Moody wrote one of the most important memoirs to come out of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement--Coming of Age in Mississippi (1968). Through her book and her activism, Anne Moody gave Black Mississippians a strong voice and hope for a more just future. For more than fifty years, her work has helped us better identify, understand, and teach about racism and racial justice.

Anne Moody left behind one child, a son, who urgently needs help to pay bills so that his utilities (water and electricity) are restored.

We are a diverse group. A key co-sponsor of this fundraiser is Adline Moody, Anne's sister. The other co-sponsors are Friends of Anne Moody (FAM)--a group of 26 scholars who have been gathering since 2022 to promote the study, understanding, and appreciation of Moody's life and memoir. Among them is Professor Leigh Ann Wheeler, Anne Moody's biographer.

All donations will go directly to pay the bills of Anne Moody's son.

Please help if you can. Do it for Anne.

P.S. Email Leigh Ann Wheeler at the contact link below if you'd like to join FAM.
