Help Ant with surgery after hit and run

Hi, my name is Sophie, and I'm trying to raise money for my lifelong friend Anthony Adams, cofounder of Homies Helping Homies and former bike messenger in Philadelphia. A few months ago, Ant and his partner Kristy lost their long-term home due to gentrification. They are currently living in my basement, trying to save funds to find a new home. During this challenging time, Anthony was involved in a hit-and-run, in which a pick-up truck hit him and left him laying in the street on November 9th.

The accident exaggerated a previously existing knee injury. He recently got the results from his MRI and has a disrupted ACL and a lateral tear in his meniscus. The doctors have instructed him to avoid climbing, crouching, heavy lifting, or standing for long periods while he waits for surgery. Anthony is currently uninsured but in the process of enrolling for medical insurance. However, coming up with the money for the monthly premium and deductible will be very challenging, as the doctors say Anthony will be out of work for 3-6 months. He has already been out of work for a month and has unfortunately already had to dip into their savings for living expenses.

Anthony moved to Philadelphia from Pensacola, Florida, almost ten years ago. He worked as a bike messenger and since then has transitioned to Sales Manager for a local bike shop off Passyunk Ave. For the past three years, Anthony has helped found and run Homies Helping Homies, a mutual aid in Point Breeze. HHH does a pop-up style table three times a month to distribute necessities from food and water to household items, toiletries and diapers at the corner of 22nd and Point Breeze Ave.

I'm raising money for Anthony to help with living expenses, doctor visits, surgery and rehabilitation through this challenging time. 100% of the funds donated will be going directly to Anthony Adams.
