Help Antea Rest and Recover

Antéa (they/them) is a 24-year-old Black, non-binary photographer/fibre artist living in Toronto.

Due to a COVID closure, they have lost their job and their only source of income. Very quickly due to rent, bills, and overall costs of living, they have run through their savings and need funds. They are burnt out mentally and physically, overworked, underpaid, and haven’t stopped working since the day they were legally allowed to. For months before this, they were already living paycheque to paycheque trying to save, as they planned to move. Their goal with this fund is to cover rent, bills, and therapy for a few months while they take time to care for themselves. This includes making art, reparenting themselves, taking the time to recharge, and learning skills they wouldn’t have been able to give time to otherwise.

" Hello, I hope you’re well! This rest fund is to help me take a break and focus on taking care of myself mentally and physically. Over the past few months, I have been overworked, underpaid, and straight-up taken advantage of. When I finally found a job I enjoyed with a wage that was manageable for me, it closed unexpectedly due to COVID. Because of that, I had to live out of my savings account and the little money I had saved, quickly ran out. This fund will cover my rent, bills, and therapy. My goal is to focus on teaching myself how to properly care for my mind and body, create some art and learn skills I wouldn’t be able to give time to if I was working.
