My goal remains the same however I’m now raising fund to rent a smaller aptment and have to stay in a homeless shelter for to awful long. Thanks to all my doners and I look forward to hearing from those who have not yet had a chance to participate. Good Bless
Hello all. So my story is similar to the story of rock soup which I’m sure many of you read as a child
This soup is the story of my life. I arrived 62 years ago with a large pot and endless possibilities. From the beginning,I found stones being placed in my pot. These came in the form of addiction and health problems.
Wonderful ingredients like rehab a great job sweetened my soup for many years. Another big stone appeared when I lost my parents and my brother. This was followed by a heart attack. My employer helped me with positive ingredients and my allowed to move in an adequate apartment in St Paul Minnesota.
It’s hard for me to enumerate the good things in my life with all of the stones I have encountered. I have struggled with physical and mental health problems my whole life. Through it all I’ve always attracted wonderful friends
We helped each other over the years in many circumstances.
The newest stone to fall in my soup is the greatest challenge of all. In February I slipped, fell, and broke my leg in 4 places. This required both a hospitalization and a long period of physical rehabilitation in a nursing home. During this time,I’ve had no income and now face eviction from my home.
It’s very hard for me to ask for help. I need it more than I ever have. I’m just too old and slow to face homelessness. That is what will happen this Wednesday unless I am able to raise $7,000. This amount includes 4 months rent, legal fees, late fees and utilitie expenses until I am able to return to work in July.
