Help Antoni School build Teacher's office room
Hi, my name is Mesias Alfeus. I am from Namibia, South-West Africa. I am fundraising for an office building for Teachers at Antoni Primary School in the Oshikoto region. Antoni Primary School situates in northern Namibia near Oshivelo, it is a small school deep in the forest. I had the honour to visit Antoni last year December. I was shocked to observe the condition teachers work in. Why, am I shocked? I was born in a village almost 140km from Antoni. I was raised up by my late great-grandmother at Okadila Village. At the age of 8, I was taken out of school and taken to Antoni to look after my grandfather's livestocks. At Antoni, there was only a primary school with grade 1-4 then and two teachers. After two years I convinced my grandfather to join grade 3 at Antoni Primary school in 1998 and in 1999, I completed grade 4. I was one of the best learners at school. In 2000, my late great-grandmother ensured I left Antoni to Okadila to continue grade 5.
I am now a lecturer in Financial Risk Management at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. I have a PhD in Quantitative Finance from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and I had a lecturership position in Financial Mathematics at the University of Wollongong Australia.
I am very grateful to Antoni school, I never thought one day I will have a PhD, my thoughts were only confined to caring for my grandfather's livestock. Antoni School radically changed me. This is why I thought I should do fundraising to support a building for the teacher's office. The school has expanded and now after 21 years there is one building for the classrooms and the school has up to grade 7.
Thank you for your generosity. If you need more information about my background and the legitimacy of this fundraising, please let me know.
