Help Aoife Find Her Way Home and Keep Living!

Things have gotten much worse since my last update here, and not just because of the country I live in!

This summer I returned to Cleveland at the suggestion of my former best friend and securing a promising job.

Within two months, both were gone and I have faced a lot of harassment and defamation from this former trusted friend. While I have managed to stay employed consistently since then, it has been less fruitful and the removal and theft of my possessions has been costly, on top of the rent for October also being stolen.

My living situation since then too has been solid, but it is not a permanent solution either.

My safety is uncertain and my financial wiggle room is all gone. There is not much left for me in Ohio and it seems like the only solution is to finally return to New York, which will be difficult and costly - especially as I will likely need to sell my car, which will need some repairs before that is possible. It is also the means of my income currently.

Money always helps when rebuilding a new life, but any other opportunities which may arise would be even more valuable than cash, so please reach out wherever you can!

Hi, my name is Aoife Mary McEneaney, though you may know my as C-Mac.

In June 2021 I accepted that I am trans, and while it could have been much worse, the response has not been ideal and I am left largely on my own against more than I thought possible.

I've been divorced and the minimal level of support I was told I could expect has been taken away. I had spent most of the last few years functioning mostly as a stay-at-home "dad" so I have little in the way of self-sufficiency at the moment. 

Transition is expensive, as is rebuilding a life in which I thought I had finally found a home, especially as the cost of living skyrockets. I have a lot of expenses ahead of me in terms of supporting my transition, staying afloat, and staying close with my 5 year-old minigoddess.

Since then, I have had to make two moves across states for better opportunities. While both of these have had extremely positive results in terms of career growth and community-building, the moves themselves have left me with credit card debt that hinders my safety. None of this compares to the baseless legal attacks my ex-wife has made and succeeded beyond her own highest hopes in winning, I remain at risk despite thriving in most areas of life.

With that, I am unable to have any contact with my child and being able to fight for my right to be a part of her life again seems impossible as it gets harder and harder to chip away at what the calculated, well-planned risks have left behind.

It is likely I will not be able to survive as the demands for paying my now-married and pregnant ex the child support she does not need and the lawyer she hired to strip me of any hope of rebuilding my life.

I hate to sound desperate, especially as I succeed at the most stable and high-paying job I've ever had, but under these conditions, none of it is enough to feed, clothe, and take care of myself against the devestation people who once promised to love me have wrought.
