Hi, my name is Pragati and I am starting a fundraiser on behalf of my aunt Apsara Acharya Bhattarai to help her battle Stage 5 kidney disease. She is a resident of Nepal who came to the US on September 22, 2023, for her daughter's wedding as a tourist. She was suffering from thin basement membrane disease which led to chronic kidney disease(CKD). As soon as she got to the United States she had a low-grade fever. This led to her CKD flaring up exponentially leading to an emergent need for dialysis 3 times a week. Chronic kidney disease patients will need dialysis 3 times a week and ultimately a kidney transplant.

She is currently being treated in an ER in Columbus, Ohio. Once her initial dialysis is done, she will need to obtain an outpatient dialysis 3 sessions a week. Outpatient dialysis costs around $500-$1500 per session. After she feels a little comfortable, her family is planning a trip back to Nepal and start the process for a kidney transplant. All this has taken a toll on her and her family emotionally and financially. What I want to do is try to lessen their financial burden so that they can focus on her healing together as a family. All the funds collected will be used towards paying her bills in the US, her travel from the US to Nepal, and eventually a kidney transplant.
