Hello Everyone!
It is heart touching moment for our community member !
Arjun Timilsina, 31-year-old male came to Australia couple of years ago to pursue his dreams like all of us but has been diagnosed from life threatening illness called Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. AML is characterised by an overproduction of immature white blood cells, called myeloblasts or leukaemic blasts. These cells crowd the bone marrow, preventing it from making normal blood cells).
Arjun Timilsina, 31-year-old guy came from Nepal to Brisbane (Australia) couple of years ago with high hopes of a bright future, a dream to achieve something in his life and support his family just like all of us. It was not long ago before he was beginning to settle down here and got married 4 years ago to Kabita. Both got pregnant and were expecting their little bundle of joy in January 2020. Both got blessed with a baby girl on 6th January 2020. The very next day of their first child’s birth, Arjun got diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. The young couple were looking forward to experiencing the joy of becoming a parent together. But their whole life went upside down, and Arjun didn’t even get a chance to hold his daughter in his arms.
Arjun and his family are in a state of shock and couldn’t accept the fact that he has been diagnosed with cancer. He never thought anything bad could happen to him, he is so young and healthy, he is just 31.
Arjun has been admitted to Mater Private Hospital since 7th January 2020. And is currently going through brutal chemotherapy. He can see his body is getting weaker day by day, there is very less time that he feels fresh, he is mostly sleeping with all those heavy doses of medication. There are many side effects like nausea, fever, vomiting and joint pains which are trying to break him down, he is facing all the challenges like a fighter.
Arjun has got strong will power to fight, high hopes from the doctors, the medical science and the almighty above. Doctor recommends him going for Bone Marrow Transplant as soon as he finishes his third cycle of chemotherapy; which will cost him approx. 350,000AUD.
Arjun’s family’s saving is trivial to what is required for this treatment. Kabita is on maternity to take care of the new-born and won’t be working either. It’s financially challenging for them to make the ends meet. Arjun & Kabita are in shock and devastated due to this Arjun’s diagnosis. However, they have not lost hope and have decided to fight this battle against cancer together.
As someone rightly said, being human is given but humanity is a choice. As soon as Arjun and his family reached out to NRNA; our committee members went to meet him in person and have decided to be there by Arjun’s side in his fight against cancer. Hence, we are reaching out to everyone to help as much as they are willing to save a life.
We always have been an example of being a strong community on Humanity Work and this time as well we will be bonding as one.
Every bit helps, and you have our deepest gratitude for any donations made or for sharing this story. For more Details or any other information about Arjun Timilsina, please feel free to contact us, or you can call or visit Mater Private Hospital, South Brisbane, QLD.
Please donate whatever you can and please keep sharing this to your family and friend and encourage them to donate as well.
