Hi guys ,
I am asking for help for the most kind genuine caring young lad. I had the pleasure of working with Arjun for two years when he came to work in the UK. I loved the fact he watched Harry Potter over and over to tackle the English language . He succeeded with excellence . Arjun was a carer in a nursing home and loved by everyone for his approach to the clients and to his peers. What I would like is for people to dig deep so he can get to see his mother who is terminal with cancer who son Arjun has been diagnosed with a rare cancer which has spread to his liver. Here is Arjun’s storyxxx With great hopes and a huge dream for a better career I arrived in the UK on January 2020 to pursue my Bachelors degree in University of West London. Those 3 years of students life in the UK had been extremely difficult but I only had one goal - becoming a graduate. During my time as a student in the UK, I learnt how to face challenges and get over them, gained lots of confidence and learnt new skills and techniques.
Just few months after I graduated I was happy that now it was my turn to pay back my due loans and give something back to my family who are in Nepal as I was finally able to work full time.
But unfortunately my life had another plan and in July 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called GIST cancer. I was admitted to the John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford, where I underwent surgery to remove the tumor from my Small intestine. The tumor was sent for further tests and to identify the course of treatment. Though the surgery was successful, my journey to recovery has been difficult. After a month wait for the report, it was found that the tumor has spread to my Liver and I have stage 4 cancer. On September 2, 2024, I went to see my oncologist for the first time. I was told that I will be on a lifelong chemotherapy and I am at a high risk of reoccurrence of cancer. Being on a chemo for few months have been rough, every night I have to sleep with severe stomach pain and chronic headaches. I either had option to tolerate the pain, take morphine or reduce the dosage for chemo drugs.
I chose to continue the chemo drugs and tolerate the pain.
Now, on January 3rd, 2025 I was referred to Hepatobiliary Surgeon (Liver specialist). During the meeting with surgeon, I was advised that I need to have another urgent Liver surgery to remove the tumor on my Liver. I have been told that 60% of my Liver will be removed. Since the tumors are very aggressive and they can spread very quickly and it will not be able to remove the tumor from the Liver in future if the tumours grow and there is high risk that it might spread towards the lungs.
I was finally happy I would be starting work from January but again those hopes and dreams to finally get back to normal have been shattered. I am having a Liver resection on the 20th of January in Churchill Hospital, Oxford. I am now facing high financial challenges due to being out of work since May, 2024. I am on the verge of returning back to Nepal as I am now unable to pay for my bills and rent. I hope to stay here in the UK, get the treatment and get back to my normal routine as soon as possible.
Despite the challenges, I am staying strong and will fight this disease and get back to normal life. Thank you everyone for your kind messages and support. I really appreciate all of your support and love.xxx
