Help Armando Hisquierdo and family

Hi my name is Mimi and I am raising funds to help support my loving son Armando and his young family. Armando has recently been given the devastating diagnosis of Clear Cell Carcinoma. This is a rare and aggressive cancer which started in his left kidney and has now metastasized to his left lung. The financial help we are asking for Armando will help him through this unfortunate hardship to support his family with medical, household and childcare expenses. This help will allow him peace of mind as he faces his healing process.

Armando is a dedicated father to his handsome sons, aged one and three years old. He is recently engaged to their awesome mother, Stephanie. She is well loved by our family. They are putting on a brave face as they come together to face this new and unexpected future.

What makes the cancer diagnosis more tragic is both have started a new page in their lives together. Armando and Stephanie have moved their small family, in order to start new and better jobs.

Armando’s dedicated team of doctors at Kaiser Permanente in Irvine have created a specialized treatment plan that is designed to fight this insidious disease. We do not know yet, how his body will react to these cancer treatments which will determine his ability to provide for his family. His fiance may have to take time off work to help care for him during his treatment. The unavoidable loss of income will also be a hardship for this young family.

Armando's initial cancer treatment begins January 2022. At that time the doctors plan to have Armando take his cancer medication intravenously. His treatment will consist of these medications, Yervoy and Optivo, which will be given once monthly for a time period of four months. Additionally, he will be monitored during the four months with monthly CT scans to see if the tumors are responding to the medication by shrinking. At the conclusion of this treatment period his medical team will reassess his prognosis to determine next steps in how they should proceed. The potential negative side effects to the medication Armando will be taking for the cancer may include: promoting his immune system to attack his own tissue, cause him fatigue, inflamed organs, rashes, and heart problems….I have left out some of the more heartbreaking side effects - you can imagine we want to keep this as positive as possible!
