My name is Ashley Humphries. My sister Brittney Ward was at work in the parking lot doing her makeup at 5:30 am Sunday 10/13/24. She works and has worked at Publix for 14 years. While doing her makeup a man ran up on her opened the car door, put a gun to her face, forced her out of the car, and stole her car. He proceeded to total her car in a chase with the police a few miles down the road. She is ok for the most part. She is recovering emotionally, however she now faces the financial hardship that comes along with this. Her vehicle did have full coverage so that car will be paid off in full, but she is left with no vehicle and no funds to get a new one. She has worked hard for 14 years at Publix through COVID, multiple hurricanes, rain or shine Publix employees are there for the public, doors open smiling faces, ready to serve. Now she needs the community’s help. Because of a senseless spree of violent crimes she is left dealing with insurance headaches, court dates for years to come, ptsd that will cause her to never feel safe in a parking lot again, and no vehicle. This is where we come in. I’m asking for help to get her into a new vehicle. She is humble and afraid to ask for help so I’m asking for her. I know this community will come together around her to help. Thank you so much for the prayers, well wishes, and concern. Any amount will help get her towards a vehicle.
