Donation protected

Mikayel Avetisyan is a professional tennis player, the leader of Armenia’s National Team in the World Championships. He is searching for sponsors to help advance his  professional career.

International achievements

Tennis Europe Junior Tour in each age category includes 30,000 junior players, Mikayel has achieved the highest ranking 58th in the total list winning 7 titles in singles and doubles https://www.tenniseurope.org/profile/history.aspx?id=C75E2F1F-7ED1-4CA7-BADA-C95576170CCA .

During his junior career Mikayel was competing head to head with some of the best nowadays international players, such as Borna Coric (#12 highest in ATP), Karen Khachanov (highest #5 in ATP), Andrey Rublev (#5 in ATP rating), and Stefanos Tsitsipas (#3 in ATP rating) to name a few: he was named a winner in several tournaments where some of  these players were competing https://www.tenniseurope.org/sport/tournament/draw?id=F16F23F5-F608-4097-8E99-E943BCB5918F&draw=1 .

At the age of 17  (October 2013) Mikayel earned his first ATP ranking https://www.itftennis.com/en/players/mikayel-avetisyan/800329519/arm/mt/s/overview/ . At the time only few young players of the same age (not more than 40) had the same statistics as professionals, while the total number of ranked  tennis professionals according to ITF Report https://www.itftennis.com/en/news-and-media/articles/itf-global-tennis-report-now-available-on-itf-academy/  averaged to 2200 .

In 2021, Mikayel made his first attempt in the international arena after his two-year military service in the Army, playing for the National Team of Armenia. The team was among the four winning nations moving up to the higher league in the Davis Cup Europe Group IV https://www.daviscup.com/en/draws-results/group-iv/europe/2021.aspx  .

While most athletes of his generation  have successfully advanced, Mikayel, had to put on hold his highly successful professional career and advancement in international rankings due to the major injury, the broken arm, which was cured during the period of 2.5 years, and, furthermore, due to mandatory military service in Armenia, which delayed his return for further 2 years.

Despite the difficulties, Mikayel did not give up, and is back with a goal to achieve a ranking in the ATP 100 in the next 3-4 years.  To fulfill his dream, he needs to take part in at least 20 international tournaments each year, as well as have access to the best training facilities. Nowadays Armenia unfortunately lacks even the basic facilities for training (e.g. there are less than a handful courts that are suitable for training during the cold seasons, and these are far from being in good shape), not mentioning the level of local tournaments which are not held for many reasons for the last several years.

Most high-level tennis players are successful due to not only solid performances, but also the availability of funding which they get largely through fundraising campaigns and sponsors. Mikayel is  not an exception, and needs to secure sufficient funding to achieve his goals. The funding will cover the travel and hospitality expenses for each international competition.

Mikayel actively supports tennis in Armenia by holding regular training sessions for several groups of young athletes, as well as organizing tournaments whenever possible.

While Mikayel appreciates donations from sponsors who may wish to help his success, sponsors may also consider the following opportunities that Mikayel is happy to offer:

Representation of the sponsor in the international events, such as Davis Cups and ATP tournaments;

•  The National Tennis Team - the player’s high ranking increases the country’s ranking in the World Championships
•  Long-term contract-sponsors to receive up to 10% of the prize money under special contract
•  Showcasing a success story for the younger generation athletes to engage in tennis in Armenia, and also for those who may otherwise terminate careers due to the barriers like the military service or injuries

Mikayel strongly believes that Armenia deserves to have successful Armenian tennis players who perform under the Armenian flag. Please help Mikayel realize his dream to be one of the best tennis players on the planet.
