Help Army Veteran Keep Riding After ALS Diagnosis
Donation protected
My husband Jeff was recently diagnosed with ALS. I want to give him his wish of continuing to ride his motorcycle as long as possible.
Jeff is an Army veteran, with 8 years of active duty and 5 years service in the National Guard. He served during Operation Promote Liberty and during Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Iraq. After years of military and federal service, Jeff retired.
As a reward for all his hard work he bought a motorcycle. He loves riding with his brothers and has participated in many fundraising and charity events, for veterans causes.
In late 2022 Jeff’s life changed forever. He started experiencing weakness in his right leg and began falling down frequently.
After many trips to doctors, tests, scans, more doctors and more tests, Jeff was officially diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease in March of 2023.
Since January daily life has changed drastically. The simplest tasks are difficult. Many of the things that Jeff enjoys have either become extremely difficult or impossible.
Purchasing a sidecar for his Motorcycle would give him back one of the things he loves, riding with his brothers again.
After researching sidecars, one has been found that can be used on his motorcycle, that can be mounted without modifications and is safe. It would be purchased from Sidecar Adventures, a 501c3.
Funds donated to Jeff’s cause would go toward the purchase, installation, safety training and transportation of his motorcycle to GA if necessary. Any fund s exceeding those costs would be donated to Sidecar Adventures to continue their mission of helping others.
