Help Artha Recover his Livelihood
Donation protected
Not long ago, Artha - a very close friend of mine - was robbed of his livelihood. Artha lives in Uganda and does not have the means to recoup his losses.
I first met Artha in Uganda back in 2012, when I was working on an information campaign about Ugandan tourism, culture and ecology. Artha is one of the kindest, most optimistic people I have ever met -I'm sure those of you who have had the pleasure would agree. He has helped many people (Ugandans, ex-pats, and tourists).
Now he needs our help. The following is a plea from Artha:
Unfortunately, a photographer's ultimate nightmare happened to me- on the night of the 23rd (23/2/22), thugs broke into my house and made off with my computers and camera gear.
This included a Nikon D810 body, a fuji film xt20 body, five lenses, a MacBook pro, a dell workstation, 2 Hard drives, my memory cards, and some other items which totalled around £5000, which is a huge loss.
I am a full-time professional photographer, and this has essentially halted my career.
I am at a loss of what to do. I don't have the finances to buy all my equipment, which has taken eight years to earn.
Because of this situation, I am here asking for help, either directly or by sharing this page. All the funds will go towards recouping my equipment. Any help will be so greatly appreciated beyond words.
If there is anything I can do for you in return, please let me know. I would love to offer any prints of my photos, photoshoots in the Jinja or Kampala area, or one-on-one workshops in return for your generosity.
Thank you all for your love and support. Much love,
Wasswa Arthur
