Help Mom Overcome Amputation & Avoid Homelessness
Donation protected
I'm a 32-year-old mother of two, artist, and student facing one of the toughest challenges of my life.
After a 19-year journey with a custom prosthetic elbow due to childhood bone cancer, I'm scheduled to undergo a left arm amputation on January 14, 2025.
Last Christmas was a devastating time for me. My prosthetic elbow failed, and I lost my rock, my father, on Christmas Eve.
Dad was my best friend, nurse, and therapist all rolled into one. He had been my caretaker since my cancer diagnosis at age 14. Without him, I'm winging it! -insert one-arm joke-
After a year of constant hospitalizations, 9 reconstructive surgeries, over 70 hours under anesthesia, and a dozen infections
I'm about to receive my coolest scar, yet. (Silver lining)
To add insult to injury, I am also facing homelessness in mid-February due to litigation issues surrounding my father's estate.
As a mom, I want to be strong for my children, but the truth is, I'm scared….
I'm scared of the unknown, of the pain, and of the challenges that lie ahead.
But I'm also determined to get through this, not just for myself, but for my children and for my father's memory.
Funds raised will help me cover:
- A used automatic vehicle to replace my stick-shift car
- Bedside aid materials for a smoother recovery
- Hotel stay near the hospital for post-operative care
- Meals and gas for my family
- A new, lower bed for easier mobility
*Any remaining funds will be allocated towards a custom prosthetic arm
Your contribution would be a reminder that I'm not alone in this journey. It would give me the strength to keep going, even when things seem impossible.
Thank you for considering my story and for your support
