Help Artist Tim Solliday Recover from Altadena Fire Loss
Donation protected
Maxwell Alexander Gallery, located in Pasadena, CA, is starting this GoFundMe for artist and friend, Tim Solliday. Solliday's home and studio were lost in the recent Altadena/Eaton Canyon fires. Tim Solliday has been a represented artist by our gallery since 2012 and a close friend ever since.
The Solliday family has lived at the foothills in Altadena, CA for nearly 30 years. Luckily, their son was home when the fires broke out and was able to get Tim and his wife, Pauline, out safely - but they lost everything else.
Tim Solliday, for decades, painted the San Gabriel valley and most notably the mountains surrounding his home. His artwork is synonymous with Altadena and so often the San Gabriel mountains can be spotted in the background of his artwork. Solliday creates a pastel study before starting a final oil painting, his studio had more than 100 pastel sketches in flat files - these sketches were going to be framed and ready for an exhibition later this year. His studio with decades of studies, preparatory sketches, props, finished works, books, materials, easels, have all be lost in the fire. Solliday's artworks can be found in museums nationwide, on the cover of national publications, and in his early career as an illustrator, his artwork can be found on book covers, posters, and much more.
If you are able to donate, it will help the family in the immediate times.
