Help Arvie with His Battle Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Arvie Dylan Derrick. I’m a proud father of three amazing kids—Noah (6), Georgia (4), and Gatlin (3). I’ve spent years working in the local bar and restaurant scene in Hernando and DeSoto County, MS, where I’ve built a life, a family, and a strong connection with my community.

Last month, at just 29 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 3C Rectal Cancer with extramural venous invasion (EMVI). Since my diagnosis, life has been a whirlwind of doctor appointments, scans, and tough conversations. I recently began an aggressive chemotherapy regimen (FOLFIRINOX), which will last nearly a year if all goes well. However, the reality is that I will likely be fighting this disease in some form for the rest of my life.

The symptoms of cancer, combined with the side effects of treatment and recovery from a small initial surgery, have made it impossible for me to work. My immediate family and my incredible girlfriend have been my rock, supporting me both emotionally and financially, but this has put a significant strain on them as well. They are working less so they can take me to appointments, infusions, and help me through the hardest days.

I am asking for help from my people—my community, my friends, and anyone willing to support me in this fight. Any donation, big or small, will go toward medical expenses, household bills, and ensuring that I can focus on what truly matters: spending time with my children and loved ones while fighting to stay as strong and healthy as possible.
