Help Asem Get Out of Gaza
Donation protected
For a few months, I've been mentoring a promising young writer named Asem Jerjawi. Asem is the eldest of four brothers. He wants to get out of Gaza to try and feed his family who are stuck there. Asem is 22 years old and achieved high marks in high school. He was a pupil of Refaat al-Areer, the poet and professor assassinated in November. Asem was accepted to this years cohort of We Are Not Numbers. He wants to write articles and books to help the people of Gaza and Palestine.
Asem and his family were displaced in mid-October, fleeing to the home of family friends in Deir al-Balah. The home they were staying in was shelled and the neighbors who provided transportation for them were killed. He now lives in a tent in the cold, wet Palestinian winter. He depleted all his savings bribing people to get food for his family. He now needs help to get out so the other members of his family have some chance at surviving this genocide. Please give what you can as every little bit helps!
