Help Ash Move to Safety!

This fund is intended to support Ash, a dedicated West Virginia (WV) trans rights and abortion rights advocate, to enable him to move out of WV.

Ash has been a tireless organizer and leader in mutual aids efforts across WV and beyond. During this time, Ash has helped to raise nearly $80k in donations to LGBTQI+ West Virginians in need of transition-related healthcare, reproductive healthcare, and emergency housing for their neighbors.

Ash has fought tirelessly for trans rights and has fought equally hard to support and uplift his local community. This work has brought him face to face with state and local politicians as he pushes to establish critical protections and services for his community. Ash has also been a national abortion storyteller for Planned Parenthood and WeTestify, where he shares his personal experiences with abortion care as a trans man. Over the years Ash has contributed so much of his time, energy, and money to supporting his community in WV.

Sadly, Ash's time in WV is coming to end due to rising levels of violence, transphobia, and constant threats of further violence. After being assaulted in a men's restroom while washing his hands and having his passport confiscated after seeking a simple gender-marker change, Ash has made the painful decision, for not only his own safety but the safety of his family, to leave WV.

In order to help Ash and his family move to safety as quickly as possible, he is hoping to raise $5,000 to cover moving costs and other associated fees and expenses. Any amount that you can contribute will be greatly appreciate by Ash, his family, and those who care for his safety.
