Help Ashley fight Stage IV Metastatic Cancer
Donation protected
Ashley Marthaler could use our prayers and help! Ashley is a 35-year-old RN at Tristate Gastroenterology. She is the mother of a beautiful one year old baby boy and helps to take care of her three nieces and nephews. Ashley gives as much as she can to those around her.
Recently Ashley had been suffering from some gastrointestinal issues that she sought out treatment for on November the 8th. She had her EGD and Colonoscopy in the surgery center she works for. It was at this visit that one of the doctors found a mass in Ashley's colon. She had a CT scan the next day that confirmed her colon cancer diagnosis, but also identified the cancer had metastasized to her liver with multiple masses, confirming stage IV liver cancer.
Since her diagnosis a PET scan showed lymph node involvement in her peritoneum as well as cervical lymph node involvement. Ashley has been referred to a colorectal surgeon and surgical oncologist that specializes in targeted liver therapy. Ashley has begun her treatment of chemotherapy on 12/1 and will continue to receive bi-weekly therapy as designated by her team of specialists. She may have to receive radiation at some point. The goal is for the chemo to be able to shrink enough of the liver masses for her to have a liver surgery and then a colon surgery for the colon mass. This will include many hospital visits and stays.
She has a tough road ahead of her with a lot of unknowns. Ashley wants to try to continue working as long as possible depending on how she feels with chemotherapy and other treatments. But with the unknowns of treatment, and upcoming surgeries, we don’t want her to worry about the financial side of it, we just want her to give it her best fight! She is going to need all the prayers and support we can send her way!! While this is our initial goal to get her through this initial stage of treatments, Ashley will potentially need more help beyond this goal, as more doctors appointments, and hospital stays, and surgeries arise and she is no longer able to work.
Anything anyone could do is very very much appreciated from the bottom of hearts. Let's help her focus on this tremendous fight ahead of her. All donations and prayers are GREATLY appreciated! ❤️
