Help Ashley Recover From Severe Dog Attack

My name is Melissa Schmidt and I am writing on behalf of my sister, Ashley Unger, who was severely injured by a pit bull bite to her face. 

 

On March 17th, 2022, after coloring hair at her client’s home, Ashley was viciously attacked by the client’s, temporary roommate’s, pit bull. Upon leaving the house, the dog tried to get outside. Without hesitation, he launched up at her face and bit her nose and part of her cheek which resulted in a severed septum and blown out cartilage, with injuries to her eye. Her nose was literally hanging off.

 

As a result, Ashley has complete nerve damage in her nose with 40 stitches needed around her nose, face, eye, and mouth. Due to the severe facial trauma and infection, it will take several months to a year to heal with the requirement of plastic surgery, eye surgery for tear duct damage, and possible reconstructive surgery. With limited capabilities of working at this time, and extensive medical costs, we hope that people can help Ashley with the support she needs during these challenging times.
