Help Ashlyn on her stomach cancer journey
Donation protected
Hi all! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ashlyn Edwards. On 9/3/2020 I was diagnosed with stage 3b stomach cancer at the age of 21. Stomach cancer is very aggressive, so we began chemotherapy shortly after this. I went through 4 rounds of chemotherapy, then on December 7th of 2020 I underwent a surgery in which they call a gastrectomy. This involves the removal of the stomach as well as surrounding lymph nodes to clear the body of the cancer. After surgery I dealt with many complications, causing me to have to get a feeding tube (J tube) placed into my small intestine, and I was not allowed to eat or drink anything for almost two whole months. After more complications and a few more surgeries I had to do 4 more rounds of chemotherapy. I then ended up having even more complications, and had to have an emergency surgery to remove the feeding tube that was placed, and had to get my abdomen completely opened up to clean out infections and bacteria (I have some pretty crazy scars). I have not worked since August of 2020 (this was when my original tumor was removed and they did not know it was cancer). I had many amazing people do fundraisers for me to help me get by, but sadly that money has come to an end. Due to more complications I have been having I still am unable to work, and I just am not able to pay my bills. Please don’t feel obligated to donate, as I know times are tough and I hate to sit and ask others for money! But if you are able to help out in any well at all, it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading my story!!! The money will go towards bills as well as travel back and forth from Utah for doctors appointments. I am hoping to be able to get back to work soon, as my upcoming doctors appointments should help me start feeling better (fingers crossed).
