HELP ASPEN GET TREATED
Donation protected
UPDATE: Thank you all for your donations, support, and kind words. Unfortunately Aspen has passed away. We will be closing donations on the go fund me. Thank you very much, I'm sorry there wasn't a different outcome.
UPDATE: Petsmart has agreed to pay the $5000 needed for an immediate 2 day stay in the ICU, we are keeping the go fund me active because we are aware that an intensive stay in the ICU could cost up to $20,000. Aspen thanks you for your help and support.
On July 1st, 2018, Aspen, a cardiac alert service dog, was dropped off at the Etobicoke Petsmart location for a week of boarding in their "Petshotel" in perfect health. When she was picked up on July 8, 2018, she was incredibly sick. She was weak on her feet, unsteady, and covered in her own drool and vomit. Aspen's owner, Corey Dixon, then learned that throughout her weeklong stay at petsmart, she had been allowed to eat her bed for 3 days, and had fallen ill. She has seen an Emergency vet, her family vet, and a veterinary neurologist and is now in need of intensive care... It is believed that Aspen's condition deteriorated so dramatically as a result of neglect from petsmart. An agreement provided for dogs who stay in their pet hotel states that there is an on-call vet for any dog who falls ill. This vet was never called. We are left with a bill over $5000 that MUST be payed before Aspen can be admitted into the intensive care unit. Acquiring these funds as soon as possible is crucial in having a chance at saving her life and we are at a loss for what to do. Any help is tremendously appreciated, Aspen is not only a member of the family, but a necessary service dog who has saved her owners life on more than one occasion. Please help any way you can..
Please donate and share, Aspen deserves a shot.
