Help Atwell Family After Home Condemned

My name is Lexie Atwell and I started a go fund me for my family of 3 and dog that were misplaced due to a vehicle crashing through our home on Barna ave in Titusville Friday afternoon. Insurance is not responsible for much needed expenses at this time including a first and last month deposit on an apartment until our house can be livable again and childcare for our son. We still have our current mortgage and utilities to keep up with during this time even though our home is condemned. Every meal, every down payment, every deposit, everything our son needs has to be paid upfront. It’s now been over a week and we have not received any monetary help from our insurance. With finances already being tight I’m worried we will start to go into debt doing what we have to do. All expenses to help us move our property from the house to be stored, debris cleanup, and everything in between have to be paid up front out of pocket, and like many Americans right now we just don’t have that in savings. We eventually would get reimbursed for SOME of these expenses but at this time we are stuck due to already paying this months bills at the beginning of the month before this all transpired. We certainly were not expecting something this tragic to happen to us ever. We get officially quoted on how long we will be out of our home once a general contractor is hired. This quote will be an estimated guess and our insurance company says typically with these types of accidents we are looking at well over 6 months. We have a budget for housing provided by insurance, there is a cap to the amount and once that runs dry, we will be out of any money to help with housing until our home gets repaired and deemed livable, therefor leaving us with mortgage and a monthly payment on a rental. We truly cannot afford that at this time.

The accident on Friday (yesterday as I write this) happened because a very bad man with an intensive criminal history decided to go 140 mph on the bend in the road we live on. He was in a police chase all the way starting in Christmas and it ended in our living room unfortunately. We lost a lot, including peace of mind, but luckily no one in the house got hurt. We are thankful beyond words for that. Those that know Corey and I know that we are the last to ask for help. We’d rather go without, but once something like this happens we have to put our pride aside to make sure our 3 year old is comfortable and doesn’t experience any more complications during this already hard time.
