Help Ava Get a Life-Changing Service Dog

Hello, we are coming to you all for assistance in helping Ava cover expenses for a service dog. Ava is my 14 year old daughter. She was diagnosed with Narcolepsy with cataplexy at the age of 12. Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder categorized by exssive day time sleepiness. While most people think it just means that she's really tired all the time. The disorder is so much bigger than that. Outside of the excessive tiredness, she experiences cataplexy, which is a temporary loss of muscle tone. This can cause different parts of her body to go limp. Muscle tone loss usually occurs during any extreme emotion such as laughter excitement, etc. So while laughing her face may begin to droop, she may slouch in a chair or completely lose muscle tone in her legs and fall over. Narcolepsy also causes fragmented sleep, sleep paralysis, headaches and lots more. They say the best way to try and understand the disorder is to imagine staying awake for 72 hours, then go about all of your daily routines, work school, etc. It would be very difficult for most of us to do that. It's almost impossible. That's what Ava is experiencing on a daily basis. After 10 hours of sleep, Ava can still wake and feel as if she only slept for 10 minutes. Again, the disorder is bigger than just being really tired. The reason we are investing in a service dog for Ava is to give her some sense of freedom and security. The dog will assist in waking her if she fails to wake up by alarm. He will wake her if she were to fall asleep in a public place. Assist her if she were to fall during a cataplexy episode. Help warn her when a sleep attack is coming. Get someone if she were to be hurt during a fall. Provide her with companionship as the disorder can also cause anxiety and depression. He will remind her to take meds etc etc. Unfortunately, this disorder is forever, and it will affect so many parts of her life. The service dog will assist her in the world to keep her a little safer and provide her with a forever friend to go on this difficult journey with. Unfortunately service dogs are very expensive this is why we are asking for help. Any contributions no matter the size will help. All prayers and support will help
