We are reaching out with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for help for this local Hutto, TX. family. Avaun, a 15-year-old who is known for his incredible kindness, humility, and talent as an all-star basketball player, has recently experienced a horrifying and life-threatening event. On July 30th, while sitting in his mom’s vehicle, Avaun was shot in the neck by a classmate who fired 12 shots into the vehicle. This traumatic incident, witnessed by his 7-year-old brother, 18-year-old brother, three friends, and his devoted mother, has left the family reeling.

The Situation:

After spending 9 days in the hospital, Avaun is thankfully on the path to recovery. However, the journey ahead is still fraught with medical appointments, therapies, and ongoing care. In addition to the physical and emotional trauma, Jenna is facing substantial financial burdens due to this devastating incident.

Jenna, a single mother who has always been the first to help others, is now in need of our support. She is known for her incredible generosity and has never been one to ask for help, despite always being there for everyone else.

Vehicle Repairs: The shooting caused $14,000 worth damage to the family vehicle, (insurance is only covering a fraction of this cost) which is crucial for transportation to medical appointments and daily activities. Funds are needed to repair or replace the vehicle so they can manage their essential needs.
