Help Avery and family

Hi, my name is Anna Byler and I am fundraising to help pay for medical/health related expenses for my second cousin, Avery Davis, and her family.

Avery was in a terrible car accident on Wednesday, August 18. She is very banged up and has a severe spinal cord injury at C1, C2 & C3. This area of the spinal cord controls breathing and all arm/leg functions. She is on a ventilator that is breathing for her.

The day after her accident, she was given no hope due to her injuries. Any sign of a response was being considered involuntary. Her family did not lose hope and did not stop praying!

Friday, today, her responses were undeniable voluntary!! She was responding with eye movements to her mom, dad and the medical team. She even smiled.

Her parents were given some options and they chose to undergo a dangerous surgery, but a surgery that would possibly give Avery the best chance to have a quality life in the future. She made it through surgery this evening (Friday), and they were able to fuse her spine. The surgery brought about good news, but Avery is definitely not out of the woods.
