Help Axis Gallery Survive COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our gallery is facing the biggest economic hardship our cooperative has ever seen, and we need your help to get through it. We are asking you to donate whatever you can so we can continue operating.


Our monthly dues are low and accessible to members of various economic and professional backgrounds because of our yearly National Juried Exhibition, which serves as a fundraiser and subsidizes the cost of our rent and operations. This year, due to the closures and pandemic, our National Juried Exhibition was only able to generate about 30% of the needed revenue, and sales of artworks were stopped for four months, creating a shortage of $10,000 in our budget. 


Not only is our gallery an asset to the Sacramento arts community because of the quality of contemporary exhibitions presented by its members for over three decades, but also because we foster the careers of emerging artists, extend exhibition opportunities to many regional artists, and bring nationally renown artists and curators to our region. Please help us survive this year so we can continue serving the Sacramento region. 



About us:


Axis Gallery is a contemporary artist cooperative and exhibition space. It has been in operation since 1987 building a reputation for exhibiting challenging contemporary work in all media while engaging with the community. Members are emerging and established artists who show regionally, nationally, and internationally. The gallery provides artists living in the Sacramento region with an opportunity to be a part of an alternative exhibition space. By creating an environment that functions outside the usual commercial sphere, members are free to explore, create and develop works that are not contingent upon sales. We are dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in our selection and representation of works of art. The artist members are equal partners and support the gallery through sales of artwork, the contribution of labor, and monthly dues.
