Help Aya Rebuild Her Educational Life

Hello, my name is Tiffany Berumen and I am creating this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of a dear friend's sister in an attempt to raise funds to aid her out of displacement in Gaza so she may continue her studies. I am based in California but all donations will be distributed completely to Aya and her family, I am only the vehicle to spread her message. Here are her sincere words telling her story:

Hello

I am Aya Al-zak from the Gaza Strip, which has been under siege for more than 8 months now! Our lives have always been in a struggle with death. Since my birth, I have been living through wars, bombings, destruction, and displacement!

My childhood was full of wars, from 2008 to the present day

Then in the 2021 war, I was in high school. I was studying, aiming to achieve my dream under any circumstances. The bombing was intense, and we evacuated our house. I took my books with me and didn't give up on achieving my dream until the war ended. I achieved a score of 97.3% despite the difficult circumstances I was going through, but I did it

In 2022, I was preparing for my graduation project from university when a short round of fighting broke out. But I continued with the project, not giving in to despair and helplessness. I successfully defended the project and got a grade of 95% on it.

On September 20, 2023, we moved to our new home that we had been waiting for for years. Two months earlier, I had graduated from university with a diploma in Multimedia Technology with a GPA of 90%. I got my first job last September, which was an enjoyable job with an excellent salary for a graduate like me. I was very happy, everything around me was great

Life didn't smile at us much. We didn't stay in our new home for more than two weeks when the war broke out again on October 7th, continuing to this day. Our lives turned upside down.Our old house, the house of my childhood and the landmarks of my life, were destroyed.

We left our new home, the details of which we hadn't even memorized yet, and were forced to displaced ,moving from one place to another. We live in a small tent measuring 3x4 meters, my mother, father, sister Malak, my brother Mahmoud,and I .

We suffer from a lack of water and the unavailability of gas. We light a hot fire to cook our food. Prices have skyrocketed, and there is no income. I learned the meaning of hunger, oppression, sickness, and pain, as I became part of the same caravan. Every morning, I run with a bucket of water for long distances in search of water, and in the evening, I continue my journey collecting the necessary firewood to light the fire. In between, I sit to wash clothes with my tired hands

My noble goals in the world of work and diligence have turned into goals that exhaust me and make me feel humiliated. I fell ill with hepatitis for two weeks, feeling very tired, unable to leave my bed

My beautiful dreams of traveling to continue my university studies have faded away, and I have become sad and desperate, with nothing to help me through the days. I need to rise again, to leave this tent and rent a house for my family. My parents are elderly and need a comfortable atmosphere of rest. I lost the personal laptop I used to work with, so I need a new laptop and a workspace reservation that provides electricity and internet so I can return to my beloved work in the world of graphic design and motion. Today, I am waiting for your support and for you to share my campaign among your friends.
