Help Ayse's family after earthquake in Turkey

Dear friends,

My name is Manuela Buxo and this is the first time that I am setting up a GoFundMe page. I am not doing this for me. I am doing this for a dear colleague of mine, Ayse Yagdigul. Ayse’s family has lost everything during the recent earthquake in Turkey. Her father comes from Kahramanmaras and her mother from Bahce. While Ayse and her parents now live in Europe, she has a big family back home in Turkey. Her uncles, aunts, and cousins and their families all live in the area that has been completely destroyed. Ayse’s family is still looking for one uncle that is missing. The rest of the family is safe.

However, all of the apartment buildings and houses they lived in are destroyed. For example, her uncle Mennan lived in Kahramanmaras in the main street, called Trabzon caddesi, which is almost fully destroyed. His apartment building is too damaged for him to go back.

Her aunts Gulay and Melek as well as her uncle Yunus live in Bahce. Their house has also been destroyed. So they left the city to live with their children until they can find a solution.

Her cousin Ayhan managed to escape his building with his wife and two kids just before the house collapsed in Iskenderun. They now live in their garage, which they can heat a little bit.

They are receiving help from NGOs and from Ayse to cover their daily needs. But they have no money to rebuild their homes. Some of Ayse’s relatives will have to relocate and rent temporary housing. Many will have to undertake major repairs in the next months.

I want to help. And I am asking everyone that can give a little bit to help Ayse’s family. Ayse is the humblest person I know. She would never ask for anything and when I offered to do this, she felt uncomfortable at first. But if someone deserves our help, it is her. She loves her family, and this is a way of helping her help them! So, please join me and support Ayse’s family in rebuilding their lives. Every little support helps!
