AZ Fire of Life Conclave 2023

Az Fire of Life Conclave is a group of 32 individual fire performance artists in Arizona who came together to create a performative piece to share in the great circle at the Big Burn this year. We are beyond grateful and excited for the opportunity to share this piece! We have all been working incredibly hard all year and we did it! We have been accepted into the great circle to come and share with you all! All of the hard work, late-night rehearsals and sacrifices made for this project were all worth it.

The majority of the team has only been to the big burn once or never, so we're all pretty new to the camping and experiences on playa. Thankfully, we have a few experienced friends and teammates who are helping guide us along the way. Now that it is a reality we are going and we get to perform, that also came with the reality of the cost. Times in general have been hard for many of us, struggling to keep ourselves above water as it is. It's no secret Burningman is expensive. On average one person spends approximately $2000 on a budget between tickets, travel, food, camps, supplies, etc for Burning Man. As a troupe, we need to also do maintenance on our props, more fuel, and replace some of our safety equipment before the burn. Any help offered to assist in giving all 32 of us a chance to go to the burn, have this experience, perform and do what we love would be very appreciated.

AZ Fire of Life was formed at the end of November 2021 in Arizona by local performers to create a safe place to promote fire safety with fire performance arts in the community. We love fire flow and want to share that with others in our community. By teaching new fire flow artists the safeties of dancing with fire, creating spaces to skillshare at any level and helping create opportunities for all levels of fire performances in our area.
