Help baby bunny's rescuers fund leg amputation surgery!

Calling all animal lovers! We need your help!
My name is CJ and since October 2023, I have been working with a group of volunteer animal lovers to catch, vet, and find homes for 15 adult rabbits that were dumped outside in a low-income community. Two of the female rabbits had litters before we could get them spayed, bringing the number of rescued rabbits to 29.
Cass, the little black bunny in the cover photo, is a kit who was born to one of these litters. For the past 3 months he has been living a happy and comfortable life with his siblings in a loving foster home. Unfortunately, on Sunday, May 19th, Cass sustained an injury while playing in his x-pen and broke his front leg at the shoulder.
His foster mom heard him scream (a terrible and sad sound to hear a bunny make) and immediately drove him 2 hours to the best exotic emergency vet in the area. After several x-rays it was determined that Cass needed a front leg amputation within the week.
Cass successfully made it through his amputation surgery today, Wednesday, May 22nd, and is expected to return home by the end of the week. His emergency and surgical bills were completely footed by his foster mom and our volunteers, who have already spent countless hours and personal funds saving and providing long-term care to these rescued bunnies.
We are starting this campaign with a goal of $3,000 to help with the following:
- Reimbursing Cass's foster mom for the emergency vet appointment
- Reimbursing our volunteer for the surgical fees
- Reimbursing our volunteer for gas, tolls, and mileage transporting Cass to and from the surgical clinic
In addition, all 14 of the juvenile rabbits who were born in the 2 litters will be ready to be spayed and neutered within the next 2 months and we have exhausted the funds previously raised on emergency medical care and spay/neuter surgeries for the rescued adult rabbits. Any funds exceeding the emergency and amputation fees will be set aside for these spay and neuter surgeries and any follow up care that may be needed for Cass.
