Help Baby Camila With Congenital Condition

We are fundraising for our friend and colleague, Beatriz, who is a young single mother who's 2 month old baby Camila was born with Arthrogryposis. This congenital condition is a contracture of the muscles in the hand & wrist areas and requires extensive physical therapy and possible surgery. A contracture is a condition where the range of motion of a joint is limited. Due to this, Baby Camila is unable to fully or partially extend her hands or wrists. She can't even hold a bottle to nurse...

Arthrogryposis is caused by lack of fetal movement in the womb. The child often appears the worst in the newborn period and can take up to two years to know what function will return.

Unfortunately, there are not any specialists located in California that treat this condition in children. She has been referred to a top clinic in West Palm Beach, Florida, that specializes in treatment, surgery and therapy for this rare condition. A consultation appointment has been scheduled for Baby Camila on July 21, 2021, at this clinic (The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute).

Beatriz & Baby Camila's travel to and from Florida, accommodations and out-of-pocket clinical expenses will be extensive as medical insurance will not cover the treatment.
