Help Baby Evelyn Thrive: Support the Yong Family
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Alana, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my incredible sister and brother-in-law. On April 2nd, we welcomed little Evelyn Maisie Yong into the world, but her arrival brought unexpected challenges. Shortly after birth, Evelyn faced neurological issues and was swiftly airlifted to another hospital. Since then, my niece, Alyssa, and her husband, Vic, have been in the NICU, grappling with disheartening and uncertain news each day.
Evelyn's test results reveal signs of brain necrosis, possibly stemming from oxygen deprivation in utero. While there's much to learn, the outlook includes the possibility of lifelong care, with uncertainties about her ability to talk or walk. Despite the challenges, their oldest children still need their care at the Yong home; their eldest, Lyam, is 6, and their middle daughter, Amelia, is 2. Balancing hospital visits with the needs of their other children is a daily struggle. It's hard to leave them and Evelyn.
We're reaching out for support to ease their burden. Funds are needed for essentials like gas for daily trips (60+ min round trip) to the hospital, food delivery, groceries, and other necessities. Moreover, we anticipate possible substantial medical expenses and the financial strain of an uncertain future. Our family is rallying around them, offering strength and comfort during this trying time.
I ask for your understanding while the Yong family is unable to provide detailed updates as they navigate their grief and focus on supporting Evelyn. Your contributions, prayers, and well-wishes are deeply appreciated. We'll share updates and photos when the time is right. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support.
