Help baby Isla receive the best medical care
Donation protected
On February 23rd, our daughter Angelina gave birth via c-section to our grand daughter Isla Mae Anderson. After being induced she spent 41 hours in labor and in that process got an infection that turned into sepsis. She had to choose a C-section over having a natural birth. After the procedure was done she and Isla were able to go to postpartum together with her husband Mike. There they spent 24 hours with doctors, nurses and consultant specialists learning how to breast feed, getting all the check ups necessary and bonding with their new baby girl.
Towards the evening of February 24th, a nurse noticed a little twitch that our daughter had seen that day. A pediatrician came in to check on her and rushed her away to the NICU immediately. It turns out those little twitches were actually seizures. While our daughter was still hooked up to fluids being treated for her infection and post-op care, her husband Mike was able to be by Islas side in the NICU. After many tests the doctors decided it was best to transfer Isla to Oakland to get more diagnostics done and receive the best care from specialists. Because they didn’t have open beds our daughter could not go with her new baby and husband. Thankfully her husband Mike was able to go and has been by Isla’s side since while his wife tries to recover and waits to be discharged from the hospital so she can reunite with them both. Right now we don’t have answers as to why these seizures came about or where they came from.
Angelina and Mike want to make sure they have the money to do whatever is needed for Isla’s care and well being. Also, because of all the tests that have already been done on Isla, the transport down to Oakland with a team of doctors and nurses, possible housing down in Oakland for an unknown amount of time, which includes travel expenses, they are going to need all the financial help they can get.
Your gracious support of any kind would be greatly appreciated as they continue to care for Isla Mae.
