Baby Keanna was born with a congenital heart malformation. Unfortunately, with her condition, the heart and the main blood vessels leaving the heart did not develop the right way.
With sadness Keanna passed away at 6.30am on March 16, 2021. She was booked for surgery on March 18, 2021 at Joe DeMaggio Childrens Hospital in Miami. Unfortunately Baby Keanna fought as hard as she could but did not make it in the end.
The Sassoon Heart Foundation of The Bahamas was supporting Baby Keanna and helped to assist with organising the emergency airlift to the US and the heart surgery that could have saved her life.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic the Sassoon Heart Foundation has had next to no donations in the last 12 months and their reserves were so severely depleted they did not have the funds to get Baby Keanna there on time.
Baby Keanna’s Bahamian medical bills need to be settled. Following this the remainder of funds will be donated to the Sassoon Heart Foundation in Baby Keanna’s memory so that the Foundation has immediately available and sufficient funds in the future to save lifes.
