Help Baby Leland with a second chance at Life

Our son,Leland was born on June 29th 2020 diagnosed healthy as can be and seemed to be. All though at a scary time to have a child with the pandemic and all. We have kept Leland and his five siblings healthy. Then when Leland was 5 months old and our baby did not seem okay so as normal parents would do we took him in not once but twice we got sent home with no answer or advice other then he was being over fed which we knew that was not right if anything he was eating less. We monitored him from November 24th 2020 when things started. He would be throwing up breast milk or clear liquid with a hint of brown to color. Those two times we brought Leland in they told us it is nothing to worry about. They also said as long as he is still eating pooping and peeing there is nothing else we can do. They never took any blood work at either of the visits. So we continued to monitor him until his scheduled doctors appointment which was December 17th 2020. On December 8th 2020 we noticed that he was getting puffy around the eyes and he would whimper all day long, and on December 9th 2020 he slept all day and his diapers were hardly wet and not as many poopy diapers. We both knew something wasn't right. On December 10th 2020 we noticed Leland was struggling to breathe. So Randy and I said lets take him in. Becky ended up taking Leland to Glencoe hospital the doctor that looked at Leland said right away that he was going to be admitted to University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. They also ran some blood tests and his Levels were all over the place. We got to the University of Minnesota and started doing more blood tests. First they diagnosed Leland with Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. Later Leland was diagnosed (with Genetic testing) with Denys Drash Syndrome. They started him on dialysis immediately. His blood pressure was high. He takes 6 medications a day. Leland has had 3 surgeries. Leland had both of his kidneys removed , had a HD line put in so he could do dialysis, he also had his PD catheter put in to do dialysis at home. We are taking one day at a time. Randy has been driving back and forth to see Leland, and to pick me up to bring me home to spend time with the other kids. Sad to say but at this time we are in the need of some financial help. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We hope to have Leland home soon.
