*English* Help Baby Luena for Better Life - Appeal for Funds to Cover Her Medical Bills
Luena is only 8 months old, and since 2 months ago she started having very frequent (every 5 mins) and severe epileptic seizures.
From inital consultations with Neuropediatrics in Tirana, it was suggested Luena is suffering from West syndrome. A head MRI further revealed underdevelopment of the hindbrain and the forebrain! Albanian doctor's suggestion were to follow her with further examinations and findings outside of Albania, so Luena's family assessed Turkey being a suitable alternative.
After careful considerations, Luena's family found a private hospital in Turkey, which was among the only ones that, in addition to examinations, also offered stem cell treatment as the only option for recovery of brain injuries.
Luena was examined in Turkey, and the findings were that her brain was damaged during birth due to oxygen deprivation causing brain damages in three areas: hindbrain, the left brain and the forebrain. Luena's current development corresponds to that of a baby of 2-3 months old.
Currently, the treatment she is receiving is only symptomatic, treating the epilepsy and her legs are put in plaster every 5-10 days, because her spasms and seizures cause tendons to strain and pull her head back.
On the consultation with the geneticist doctor, we were told that there is a good chance Luena can recover through stem cell treatment, given her young age, but the treatment should start as soon as possible, before reaching the 9 months old. Upon entering the 9th month, the brain goes into another stage of development and the recovery of the currently damaged parts becomes more difficult or even impossible. If left untreated, Luena risks paralysis, blindness, severed mental development, deaf-mutism, limb deformities reducing her quality of life considerably.
The stem cell treatment takes place in 3 sessions, where one session consists of two injections with stem cells that are carried out over a period of at least 2 weeks. Luena needs to be hospitalised to receive the treatment alongside other procedures ( ozone injection, physiotherapy, tests, progress tracking, etc.).
The cost for the total treatment for Luena is estimated to be £80,000.
Luena's family is unable to afford this amount,that is we humbly ask for your support, as little contribution as possible so that with you and God's help, we can give little Luena a chance to have as a normal life as possible and a future like any other child.

Luena eshte nje vogelushe vetem 8 muajshe. Para 2 muajsh i filluan kriza te shpeshta (cdo 5 minuta) dhe te forta epileptike.
Nga konsultat paraprake me mjekun Neuropediater në Tiranë, u konstatua se vuan nga sindroma West. Më tej një skaner i kokes konstatoi moszhvillim të trurit të pasëm dhe atij të parëm! Mjeku sugjeroi që për vizita dhe konstatime më të detajuara do ishte më mirë të shkohej jashte vëndit, dhe familja e Luenes gjeti Turqine si një alternativë shume te mire!
Familja e Luenes, pas kerkimeve, gjeti një spital privat në Turqi, i cili ishte ndër të vetmit që vec ekzaminimeve bënte edhe trajtimet me qëlizat staminale si mundësi e vetme për rikuperim të dëmtimeve te trurit.
Luena u ekzaminua në Turqi, dhe rezultoi se truri i saj eshte demtuar gjate procesit te lindjes nga mungesa e oksigjenit, duke i shkaktuar demtime ne tre vatra: pjesa e trurit të pasëm, pjesës së trurit të majtë dhe trurit te parëm. Zhvillimi aktual in Luenes eshte sa i nje bebeje 2-3 muajshe.
Trajtimi që po merr tani është vetëm siptomatik, po trajtohet per epilepsine dhe i hidhen cdo 5 – 10 ditë këmbët në allci pasi spazamat dhe krizat i shkaktojnë tendosje të tendinave dhe tërheqje të kokës mbrapsht.
Nga konsulta me mjekun gjenetist, na u tha se ka nje mundesi të mirë që Luena të rikuperohet nëpërmjet trajtimit me qëlizat staminale, pasi mosha që ka e favorizon, por trajtimi duhet të fillojë sa më shpejt, pa mbushur 9 muaj. Me hyrjen në muajin e 9-te truri hyn ne nje faze tjetër zhvillimi dhe rikuperimi i pjesës aktuale të demtuar bëhet më i vështirë ose edhe i pamundur. Nese lihet pa trajtuar, Luena rrezikon te ngelet e paralizuar, e verbër, me zhvillim të vonuar mendor, shurdh-memece dhe me derformime të gjymtyrëve duke ja ulur ndjeshem cilesine e jetes.
Trajtimi me qeliza staminale zhvillohet në 3 seanca, ku nje seancë ka dy injeksione me qeliza staminale qe kryhen gjatë një periudhe të paktën 2 javore. Luena ka nevoje te shtrohet ne spital te marre trajtimin bashke me procedura te tjera (injektohet ozon, i bëhen analiza, fizioterapi, ndjekja e progresit etj).
Kostoja per trajtimin total të Luenës shkon £80,000.
