Help baby Neema (hyena ate half her face)
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Michael. I am raising funds towards the cost of surgery for a three year old girl called Neema. A wild hyena ate half of Neema's face, including one eye. Her family live in Masailand in rural Tanzania, and are extremely poor.
Neema was transferred urgently to Benjamin Mkappa Hospital in Dodoma, the capital city, where doctors saved her life.
The hospital contacted my great friend, American Reconstructive Surgeon Dr Maher, currently living in Arusha in Northern Tanzania, for help with reconstructing Neema's face.
Dr Maher visited Neema, and is planning a complicated intervention necessitating sophisticated equipment, some of it coming from overseas. Funds raised will help to purchase some of this vital equipment, and enable Dr Maher to travel frequently to Dodoma to perform intricate surgery.
Thank you so much for all of your generosity.
Please note that pictures of Neema are unfortunately too gruesome to be shown publicly. Private requests will be considered, but ample warning will accompany any request.
