Help Baby Sila, Little Hamood and Family Survive

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Basma, and I am from Belgium. I have created this fundraiser in the hope of supporting my friend Ezz and his family, which consists of my friend Ezz, his wife, and his two children, Sila, 1 year old, and Hamood, recently born in war, 4 months old. Please read their message.

Dear Reader My name is Ezz Sommad. I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart for help during a time of urgent need. I woke up at 7 a.m. on October 10. I will never forget that painful morning. The neighbors screamed in panic my name from afar to evacuate the building where I was living in an apartment. When we were sleeping, the army hit us with a warning missile next to the wall. The air was filled with dust, and the sky became dark. Unfortunately, my wife was pregnant with Hamood at that time. Her steps were slow during pregnancy, but with a feeling of fear, she walked faster than me to survive. The fetus is fine. My child, Sila, miraculously survived. Then I held her to my chest with anxiety and tears after the missile hit her room, which contained her warm bed.

Our house was completely bombed and flattened by explosive rockets without any mercy, after a few minutes of evacuation. We did not take our clothes, my children's toys, or furniture. Many homes, including those of our precious children, were reduced to rubble. Schools, playgrounds, and community centers were destroyed, leaving a void that seemed impossible to fill.

Everything we had was gone in the blink of an eye.

Imagine looking your family in the eye, in your kids’ eyes, knowing that this might be your last moment in life, that they need health care, and that you are helpless and exhausted?

Sila was born, She came into this world with a radiant smile and a twinkle in her eyes that promised a bright future. At birth, Sila was diagnosed by a doctor with Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS), a rare genetic condition that affects approximately one in every 13,700 children.

For Sila, this diagnosis has meant countless trips to the hospital, multiple surgeries, and a constant battle to manage her condition. Sila is suffering from a lack of follow-up on her health condition. Due to very bad war conditions and the many hospitals that were destroyed by the occupation in Gaza, she needs a large amount of money to get a genetic test. Periodically,

your support can make a profound difference in Sila's life, allowing her to receive the care and opportunities she deserves.

During the displacement and moving from one house to tent to another, my wife's birth was very difficult. Hamood Born Despite the suffering and pain, it was difficult to provide for Hamood basic and simple needs, such as diapers.

Hamood suffered from a skin rash, and because of the poor types of diapers available, he began to suffer from fungi and infections in his feet and screamed all night from pain without any solution In addition to the high cost of milk and the prices of Pampers three times higher due to the army closing the crossings and besieging us, this makes the situation worse for taking care of Both.

My children deserve a chance to reclaim their childhoods, rebuild their dreams, and feel the warmth of safety and stability once more through your support and sharing our story.

Seven months later, suffering, bomb sounds and noisy military aircraft were in the air and we slept in strangers’ houses, in schools, and in a teeny tiny tent in the street. The house next to us during the displacement was bombed. It’s a miracle we’re still alive.

Now, we’re staying in a small secluded room that doesn’t have any bathroom or any other facilities, surrounded by collapsed houses due to strikes! We have very limited access to food, water, and medications. Countless days of hunger and thirst!

The money raised will be used to:

1- Rebuild Home: Provide a safe and secure home for my family, giving children a stable environment to grow up in.

2- necessities: Supply of food, clean water, and medical care to ensure the health and well-being of the children.

3- Medical Expenses: Cover the cost of surgeries, medications, and regular check-ups.

4- Rehabilitation Cost: Provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help Sila develop and thrive despite her challenges. These therapies are vital for her growth and development.

Please join us in making a profound impact on the lives of my children.

Together, we can turn their tears into smiles and their fears into dreams.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity for listening to our story.
