Help Baby Silas
Donation protected

Friends,
As many of you know, Amelia was hospitalized after her water broke at 22 weeks gestation. The wonderful news is that she is STILL pregnant. Every single day Amelia stays pregnant is monumental for baby Silas’ viability and development. Both mom and baby are being closely monitored and seem to be defying the odds the doctors laid out for them.
As you can imagine, this is a challenging time for our family.
We ask you to continue praying for us. Though this experience has been devastating, it has also grown our family and given us new perspective on life and faith. Thankfully, we have an incredible community around us and we have received more support than we could ever have imagined. Please continue to pray for our needs and praise God for His miraculous and redemptive works in the midst of great fear and uncertainty.
Our other HUGE need is the financial toll associated with our anticipated long hospital stay. Our doctor’s goal is for Amelia to remain in the hospital and pregnant until Silas is 34 weeks gestational. This means several more weeks in the hospital for Amelia, and then a longer stay for Silas in the NICU if everything goes well.
Because Amelia had recently started a new job, she was not eligible for an extended leave. Her income and insurance coverage ended November 30. Starting December 1, we now have increased COBRA insurance costs while simultaneously losing the bulk of our income. This is a huge burden and stress during a time when stress is the enemy!
We’ve started this GoFundMe in response to this financial need. We hope to raise money to cover insurance and out of pocket medical expenses.
Here is a breakdown of our needs:
$15,600 COBRA medical insurance for Amelia, Judah and Silas through December 2019
$6,000 medical expenses incurred from hospital stay in 2018 not covered by insurance
$36,000 anticipated out of pocket expenses for Amelia’s hospital and Silas’ NICU stay in 2019 not covered by insurance.
God is so good and continues to comfort and provide for us during this trying time. We ironically decided to name our second son Silas as we entered into the "wilderness" of the missions field. Here we are truly trusting God as he guides us through our wilderness. We ask you to consider joining and supporting us in our journey to bring Silas and Amelia home happy and healthy.
Thank you so much for your continued outpouring of love and support!
